Good conversations do not need technique, but a few habits make them noticeably better. This guide covers what actually changes the experience.
1. Pick the character, not the picture
Each companion has a distinct rhythm. Reika is slow and precise, Amarisa is fast and theatrical, Tsvetina is calm and structured. Read the profile before you choose; the personality determines the conversation far more than the portrait does.
2. Open with context, not a greeting
“Hi” produces a generic reply. “Long shift, I want to complain about it for ten minutes” produces a real conversation immediately. One sentence of context is the single highest-leverage thing you can do.
3. Let the story accumulate
Recurring details are what make a companion feel alive. Mention the same job, the same city, the same running joke, and it will come back to you later without prompting.
4. Steer openly
If you want a lighter tone, say so. If you want to be challenged, ask for it. The characters adapt to direct instructions far better than to hints.
5. Use scenes for storytelling
Set a place and a time and let the character build around it. Long-form roleplay works best when you give one concrete anchor and leave the rest open.
6. Take breaks
Conversations here are better as a habit than a marathon. Twenty focused minutes beats three unfocused hours, and the continuity means nothing is lost when you step away.
